In Q4 2025, the GEVA Project, in collaboration with MSc. Mr. Bùi Khánh Tùng – Deputy Director of the Center for Organic Agriculture Development Support (CODAS, VOAA) – conducted on-site field assessments at 14 outstanding enterprises in the coffee, spices, and nuts sectors participating in GEVA’s Incubation and Green Export Program.

In response to global market trends that increasingly prioritize imports meeting sustainable farming and development standards, the survey aimed to assess the current conditions of these enterprises, their readiness to comply with Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS), and their potential to expand export markets once certification is achieved.

The enterprises’ cultivation areas span from Sơn La, Lào Cai, and Hòa Bình in the north to Huế, Kon Tum, Quảng Ngãi, Lâm Đồng, Đắk Lắk, Đắk Nông, and Bình Thuận in the central and southern regions—reflecting a rich diversity of climate conditions, soil characteristics, and farming models. The journey offered in-depth, real-world insights, revealing not only the abundance and vast potential of Vietnamese agriculture, but also the challenges and risks enterprises face—from production conditions and climate change to stringent market requirements and internal management capacity.

Despite these challenges, the most encouraging highlight was the resilience and dedication of business leaders—those who are steadily innovating their production models, creating jobs for local farmers, and strengthening the international presence of Vietnam’s value-added agricultural products.

“Compliance with standards should not be seen as a burden, but as a means for enterprises to strengthen internal capacity, improve quality control, and operate more efficiently,” shared MSc. Mr. Bùi Khánh Tùng.

VSS not only helps enterprises enhance their internal management systems, but also unlock significant export opportunities—particularly for agricultural products, a sector constantly subject to rigorous international market requirements.

Based on the survey results, the GEVA Project will continue to support businesses through upcoming one-on-one online coaching sessions.

From cultivation areas to export markets, GEVA remains committed to accompanying Vietnamese agricultural businesses on their green export journey
